About

Cindy graduated from Brigham Young University with a master’s degree in social work and spent years working in the mental health field. Although she felt a deep yearning to be an artist, she believed creativity was something you were either born with—or not—and that the “artist gene” had passed her by.

One day, while providing therapy, Cindy found herself telling a client that just because you have a thought doesn’t make it true. In that moment, a realization stopped her short: perhaps her long-held belief that she could only draw stick figures was simply an unchallenged, inaccurate thought. That insight became a turning point. Her journey as an artist began that very day, as she courageously questioned her insecurities and set out to discover the artist within.

Now, twelve years later, Cindy creates oil paintings and mixed media art that invite viewers to bring their own stories and emotions into the work. Cindy paints themes of nature, wildlife, landscapes, people and Christian art. She also creates mixed media artwork, where she incorporates the magnificent beauty of real butterflies as a symbol of the inherent value within each of us.
